Thank you Netlify

Been Netlify user since for 3 years now, and its service never disappointed, even though i’m using their free user tier, but the service is awesome, currently i have many sites hosted in their platform, all of my domain hosted there also, this blog one of them.
Here’s my build stats on Netlify, i have been published few post on my other blog seputarfinansial.com, jakartadev.org, seputarinvestasi.com, and others.
They gave its users a generous perks, like build times quota, i got 300 minutes build time quota monthly, in a month my sites consumed roughly about 100 - 200 minutes, and i still have plenty more.
Thank you Netlify!

The Rise and Fall of Getting Things Done →
Written by Cal Newport, one of my favorite writer, author, he tell the story about Getting things done movement in the past, even interviewing Merlin Mann and other authors, i have been using this techniques in the past, yes, it is sometimes did not worked as intended, overwhelmed, probably there are mistakes in my implementation, but still, this is a journey.
Before there was “personal productivity,” there was just productivity: a measure of how much a worker could produce in a fixed interval of time.
GTD made a framework, or model, it was not intended to have a right or wrong action, it’s just how the way you managed your time, and making the best out of it.
Read more →About Github Profile

Came across this blog post, titled “Why GitHub Won’t Help You With Hiring”
Instead, this post is about why GitHub profiles just aren’t all that useful when looking to hire developers.
Interesting article, different takes of how github profile won’t help boost our profile in the development world, and the points are valid, for some people.
While i do agree most of the stuff, and i have my view also about this, it’s a little different with my experience, since i have been an engineering manager for quite sometimes, I do checked people, or candidates, when I’m hiring, on GitHub, to see a glimps of her/his involvements if any, it’s like stalking the candidates, and if they contributed to opensource, that’s a plus, especially if the OSS is a huge project.
And for my personal opinion, aside for account name reserved, having my handle @dedenf on Github, is that I have piece of code contributed, and i feel safe to store my code, documents, on my GitHub account.
While i do have another account in BitBucket, GitLab and other place, GitHub is my first choice to store and contribute.
